World Class Things

“Only through focus can you do world class things, no matter how capable you are.” Bill Gates
This is a daily inspiration to me. Is there anyone who doesn’t lose focus?IMG_4140

Special Times

Conversational Finesse

Even with the best of conversational intentions, you can feel the misstep. The trust is tenuous, but growing, and then it happens. Too much is asked and the conversation narrows.
“Note to world: curiosity killed the chat.” Philip Galanes

A Life Without Conflict Is Ridiculous

Without civilized conflict, little of value happens. Opinions are not expressed, ideas are not surfaced, and too much of life goes unsaid.
People slip away and no one knows why. Teams lose a member for reasons that would actually benefit everyone if a person had the courage to talk. The key is how to voice conflict in a totally adult manner. A worthy goal.

Smiles Are...Money

Look around you, who is smiling? From my experience, not too many people have thought to truly smile. Part of being an adult is knowing the power that a smile has on our environment, no matter what we are currently going through. Children look for smiles, families want to see it and the world is simply better if we have the courage to smile.

Birthdays or Gratitude?

Birthdays, when you’re older mean at least as much as they did when you were younger. Young people either look forward to an age or dread it because they are giving up a life stage or their youthful good looks.
And when you’re older, you’re more appreciative that you’re alive and can appreciate what you know, family and friends, and all that you can still anticipate and experience. Sometimes, birthdays come with a tinge of regret that a friend or family member was not able to experience more in their lives.
Bottom line…step it up…birthdays are to be celebrated – in warm and caring ways.
