Two Kinds of Thinking

It seems to me that basically there are two kinds of thinking among my friends. In one case, people have a general idea of what they know and yet are very curious about everything. As they learn, they try to integrate new knowledge with what they already understand. Others have a wooden box of personal ideas and they cherry pick news and new information to support what’s already in the box. I’m sure my observations will evolve, so this is merely a snapshot in time.

What Are We FOR?

“What counts now is not just what we are against, but what are we for. Who leads us is less important than what leads us – what convictions, what courage, what faith -win or lose.” Adlai E. Stevenson
As I listen to people complain, I often wonder, but what are you actually FOR?
