World Class Things

“Only through focus can you do world class things, no matter how capable you are.” Bill Gates
This is a daily inspiration to me. Is there anyone who doesn’t lose focus?IMG_4140

If we are present in the company of our lives, meaning we are listening and thinking about what is happening, there will be times when we must capture what we’ve learned. Our memories are superb, but they fade, so we must help them. Capture what you’ve learned in a journal, a book inscription, a piece of art, writing or some other permanent place. This is a gift you give yourself that propels you in the direction you’re trying to go.

What Did I Just Learn From That - In This Moment- That I Must Capture?

The Glory of Time

“The man who views the world at 50 the same as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.” Muhammed Ali
For me, progressive thinking makes things better. A student of history knows this.

Are You an Old Soul?

Some animals, like this friendly fellow, act like OLD SOULS. You can detect it in his eyes and social acumen.
When people are described this way, they are thought to be “wise beyond their years, of strong emotional stability and possess more understanding of the world than their peers.”
Do most groups of friends contain an old soul to anchor the group? Do healthy families look to one person for the ultimate guidance? Are you, the reader, an old soul who is looking for wisdom going forward?
I know I am.

A Different Look at Happiness

“If I have any wisdom to impart to my children, it’s this: Happiness doesn’t come from planning out every detail. It comes when you learn to handle the stuff you didn’t plan for.” Ann Brenoff
In fact, structured planning of one’s life is stifling.

Presentism

Presentism occurs because we fail to recognize that our future selves won’t see the world the way we see it now.” Daniel Gilbert
Maybe this is the reason to make friends with older, wise people…and really listen to them.
